DescriptionThere are many species of cockroaches. Most species of cockroaches do not live in human houses, but intead live outside in trees or around water. Cockroaches eat almost anything including plants, upholstery, books, dead animals, cheese, leather or wood.
Some diseases can be transmitted by cockroaches including colera, salmonella, plague and leprosy. The american cockroach reaches lengths to about 2 inches. They often live in sewers and other moist environments. They are usually spread in boxes and bags carried from location to location. |
How to Eliminate CockroachesCockroaches do serve a purpose. They are excellent at eliminating bedbugs. Unfortunately, for most people, that is like trading one problem for another.
Liquids, dusts and granuales can be used to control roaches. All possible nesting spots should be treated. Drop ceilings, attics and crawl spaces should be sprayed. Sometimes the inside of the walls must be treated as well. |
